India is the second most populous country in the world. The country where the rate of illiteracy was alarmingly higher just as recently as three decades ago, has now emerged as Asia’s biggest knowledge hub. Unlike the olden days, the number of educated youths in India is on the rapid increase. But the saddest part of it is, the youth who are imparted academic education, are not properly taught to face the challenges in the present day’s society when they pass out of the college. In such a bizzerie situation a need has definitely arisen to introduce some kind of arrangement to educate the youth on several important matters so that they can start the life with more courage and confidence. That need is the mother of invention is well proved in such situations. So an idea was invented a couple of decades ago to tackle this situation by a person for whom social service is more precious than the breath. His name is Naresh Muthiah who invented a concept to help these educated youth, and his idea gave birth to a social service organization called Youth Employment Training Bureau which is shortly called as YETB
Naresh Muthiah, the head of the organization was already a famous personality in Madurai. He had been running a private TV channel in Madurai by name, ‘MADURA’ and conducted youth programmes, most of them employment oriented. Through these programmes, he helped around 10,000 graduates to get employment in famous companies in and around Madurai. YETB partnered with many famous educational institutions and state and central government agencies and launched many employment oriented programmes. It entered into partnership with National Service Corps of Madurai Kamaraj University and conducted many self- employment training programmes in various fields. Some of the candidates who got trained up by him in cinematography and film editing are famous directors in Kollywood today. YETB also conducted many social welfare schemes in Madurai in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra
YETB has designed a scheme to create separate websites for each and every student. All the information regarding their academic qualifications, the special skill they possess, the latent talent in them and their dreams will all be properly displayed in their websites. They will also be taught about how to update all the new information every now and then. Templates will be created for this purpose. This will pave a way for faster and better employment chances for them.
A scheme has also been drawn to conduct courses on soft skill development for the educated youths so that they will have better communication power and will have better inter and intra departmental relationship in the organization they work. Public relationship skill is another area which YETB intends to train the graduates in this will brighten the prospects of their getting employment in high profile companies and help them ascend the corporate ladder easy and faster.
